what i wore this week {blissdom edition}

wondering what this series is about? read here to find out more…

Okay, you guys, I didn’t know that I looked like a Texan.

Apparently I do. :)

So Abbie and I went to Blissdom last weekend, and we’re in the airport on our way home from Nashville when the TSA agent asks me where I’m from. I smile and tell him Texas, and he says to me, “you look like you’re from Texas!”

Now that is funny. Are we Texans really that easy to spot?

I don’t really have a Texan accent. Most people in Texas guess I’m from up north, actually {which I’m not}.

I glance down at my outfit to see if it happened to be screaming “Texan”:

{here with the lovely Erin from Two Story Cottage}

I don’t think it necessarily looks Texan...maybe it’s the fact that my shirt looks like it has bluebonnets on it {it’s actually an urban outfitters silk top I scored for $2 in Dallas!}...? Or maybe it was the big as Texas hair...? Or was it because I wasn’t scowling after they asked me to put every item I owned in eight dishpans... perhaps Texans don’t mind as much? Maybe I seemed friendly? Tennesseans are friendly too though...so that doesn’t help...

I really have no clue. What is it y’all? I’m dying to know!

I know that to some people it is not a good thing to look Texan, but he seemed to be genuinely nice about it. I smile back and tell him, “Well, I will take that as a compliment, because I love being from Texas!”

Ah, silly Texan pride. It’s just part of who we are! ;)

Sweet Megan from Millions of Miles told us she liked our Texan boots/style too:

Isn’t she so cute? She has some amazing stories of their adoption!

And here’s another outfit with the boots {I’m still loving my eBayed Frye’s!}. After a long day, we managed to get a shot. So many outfits in such a short time! :D {I so love reasons to get dressed up, don’t you?}

And most of my outfit shots were taken with Abbie last weekend! Hey, two wiww shots in one picture!

and if you thought two-for-one was a good deal, how about four wiww girls in one picture:

Lindsey, on the right, is the pleated poppy- the original creator of what I wore wednesdays, the place we link up every week! Fun, huh? She’s with Lisa on the left- aren’t they adorable? Love their outfits too!

We had a great time, and I think I’ve managed to stay in my robe for hours this week to recover from all those outfit changes!

I’m thinking it’s time to get back on the getting dressed wagon! We will see how that works out next week, I suppose! :D

linking up at the pleated poppy!

Okay, so please tell me-what do you think? Do I look like I’m from Texas? :)

I am originally from Southern California but currently live in Oregon. We have talked up here about how women in Texas seem to put more effort into what they wear (in a good way) and how it would be nice if it was a little more like that here. So maybe he was saying you look really put together. :)

I'm in the same boat- rhinestone jeans spell Texan to me! :D I'm a fan of most north/east dallas goodwills. I have yet to find an independent store that I loved. Mesquite and Garland and Plano are my faves! Hope that helps!

always love your outfits--i couldn't really say if you look like you're from texas or not. i'm from texas too, so unless you're wearing boots and a hat, i don't know what "looking like you're from texas" means!!
can you please share where some of the goodwill/thrift places are that you've been to around dallas? my goodwill that used to be great has gotten so bad--i can't find anything there anymore :(

Yep, it's the charm in your sweet face. Plus to gorgeous hair. Since I'm a MN girl I would have guessed you were "Southern" to me. Maybe cause I'd be wearing shortsleeves and flip flops at Blissdom due to the "heat wave" they had compared to me...lol I am hoping to go next year, it looked too fun to miss! Loved you outfits.

Big hair, stylin' boots, and a friendly face. :-) I wish I was a Texan! Here I am up in freezing cold WI with limp, windblown hair, winter boots, and a face that says "when is spring again?". ;-)

Honestly? Not really! ;D When I first roamed over your blog I thought you were from Missouri or something! I had no idea you from good ole Texas until RDD said something about you being from here. I too, live in Texas and most people think I'm from up North as well. (Although, I crossed that Dixie line a few years ago and lived in Chicago & Salt Lake City for about 3 1/2 years before moving back to Texas.) Anyways, it's funny the assumptions people gather sometimes. ;)

Ummm, of course you know that I think you look totally Texas :-) I loved meeting you and Abbie! I just loaded you into my reader- can't wait to keep up with you!

You do look like you're from Texas! Can't say exactly why, though! Maybe I'm not the best judge, though, since where I'm from no one wears colors ;)

I'm not sure if I would think Texas or not? Confession, I've never been to Texas. I LOVED all of the outfits. I think you were the best dressed girl at Blissdom! :)

Ahhh!! I'm Texas born and bred and I absolutely LOVE being Texan!!! So it's killing me that we just moved to North Carolina. Ugh. Talk about UN-romantic...lol. But by the way I absolutely LOVE your hair!! I'm wondering if it's naturally curly, but I guess I'll have to stick around and browse a while and maybe I'll figure it out. ;) My hair is curly-ish but SO THIN. Like seriously I'd have to like times it by SEVEN to be as thick as yours! So you're totally blessed! :)
