thrifty thursday: favorite goodwill find {and shopping hack}

I thought it would be fun to show you one of my favorite thrifty finds:

my Fossil leather wristlet from Goodwill {of course! ;) }! I bought it a DFW store for just $5 {it was brand new and in perfect condition, with tags!}. I loved it at first sight, and I even grabbed the other $5 wristlet they had and gave it to Abbie as a roomie gift on our trip to Blissdom!

It's one of my favorite thrifty finds, but it has really become one of my most practical accessories too. I use it all the time!

Instead of lugging around a heavy purse in the store, I'll hook my wristlet over my hand, put my phone inside, and then loop my keys on with my trusty well-loved carabiner, and I'm good to go.

It's funny a how little thing like a wristlet can simplify your life and make it easier!

Do you have any fun tricks for carrying your "stuff" shopping with you? I'd love to know your secrets!

You have the best luck! That is super cute. I try to carry as little as possible when going to the store, usually my phone and a small purse.

I live in the DFW area, too....Keller to be exact. Which thrift stores & areas are your favorites? One of my favorites is in Flower Mound. I LOVE going to new areas!! :)

Okay, so my initial response when I got the wristlet was pretty much summed up in, "Oh my gosh, it's so stinkin' cute."

Beyond that, I didn't really have any grand plans or ideas.

But it's turned into an absolute godsend! I don't think I'm ever going to be without one again. I do the exact same things you do--hook the key, slide the phone in, good to go.

It actually is one of the most practical and pretty gifts I have ever received.

Great minds, indeed.

Is yours holding super-well?

Mine still looks brand new, and it gets plenty of wear.

I love this cute little thing. I probably would need to be able to fit a wallet in it though. Would that work? You haven't updated us about your new way of eating lately. I sure love hearing about that too.

I am new to your blog and loving it. I would love to become more thrifty and find so many great things at GW. My problem as a mom of young kids is trying to find a way to get there by myself and make the most of the little time I have. I usually end up feeling overwhelmed there b/c there are so many things and not any organization. Then I feel like I have to rush home. Could you maybe share if you have some kind of "system" to streamline your thrifting- and how you do it with kids? You may have answered this in a post somewhere, but I haven't had a chance to read them all. Thanks!

Oh my goodness gracious! That is sooo cute! I need to stop by our Goodwill more often. I have to say though, you find much cuter things at yours thank I ever have at mine.

I was at a charitable dinner the other night and won the bid on a wristlet in the silent auction. I paid WAY more than $5, but it went to a good cause. :) I love the convenience of the wristlet as well. Good things come in small packages.

It's pretty small, actually, smaller than my real wallet. It only hold a few cards and my phone fits perfectly in it. :) I plan to post to more about the diet tomorrow {Lord willing!} :D I'm excited about it! :D

It is, except for the pen mark on the back {not sure how that happened!}. I really enjoy not lugging around a bag these days! 4 kids is enough, right? lol! I'm so glad you liked it and get to use it! :D

My best finds are in DFW for sure! :D They are even better there than in East Texas! I hope your day was lovely!! {and tomorrow too!} heehee... :D

I definitely do feel that way with kids in tow. I shop the newest items in bins that they haven't put out yet, other than that, I don't do much digging or looking these days. I scan, scan, scan, and get out as quickly as possible with the kids. I find frequent quick trips to be more fruitful than longer ones. :D I hope that helps some!

I think the DFW stores have the best stuff for sure! I've not been in other states though... :) A wristlet and a charitable donation? double win for sure! :D
