wondering what this series is about? read here to find out more… :)
Dear friends, I'm in a hair rut.
So I decided to rhyme because I'm a bit of a nut.
Headbands are fun.
Apparently I wear lots of 'em.
I wear them on the porch...
sitting down...
on a log...
in the fog...
around the store...
over here, over there...
and even under a bear....
Headbands are everywhere!
What should I do when I'm stuck in a rut?
Do you think I should get my hair cut?
Perhaps I should find a new style...
I'm so done with headbands for a while!

Lord No! Don't cut your beautiful hair. I just started following you a few weeks ago bc I was struck by your red hair. I have the same hair, only I cut mine off boy short 2 years ago, and while cute, it's not pretty short. I am aching to get my hair back long again, like yours. Go check out my hair at WWW.mabebabe.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteAnd, please don't cut your hair, it is amazing!
Love your hair! Great outfits! Love the cowboy boots!
ReplyDeleteYou have the most beautiful hair I think I have ever seen! I wish I had hair like yours! It's gorgeous!!! I can understand being in a hair rut though, I go through that sometimes myself.
ReplyDeleteNOOOO!! Don't cut your beautiful hair! What about getting a mega size flexi clip where you could twist it all up? That would be so pretty! Or you could get a size small to just do a half up.
ReplyDeleteWhile your hair is very beautiful, it's a bit overpowering. I think a haircut is in order -- about 4-5 inches off the bottom and then some long layers.
ReplyDeleteYou're hair is so gorgeous!!! I wouldn't cut it, just get more head bands :) Where did you get that cute scarf? I'm on a scarf kick lately, especially those infinity ones!
ReplyDeleteI think a.) you are ridiculously cute, b.) your hair is amazing, and c.) your blog is phenomenal. In other words, you rock!
ReplyDeleteI say if your feeling like your in a rut then, go for the hair cut. Of course your hair is beautiful, but you are the one who lives with it every day and if your ready for a change, just do it. I personally love change. I usually like to have a trusted hair stylist friend do my hair, because I'll tell her to surprise me. My last cut was right before the birth of my now 7 month old. I didn't have my friend to do it, but a stylist instead. I'm not so sure how experienced the girl who cut my hair was, because what she did was nothing like what I asked for and one of the older ladies came up behind her saying "what are doing? Don't cut anymore off." Yep, my hair was quite a bit shorter than what I was wanting. The good news is hair grows back. The better news is that everyone else loved it. Hubby new it wasn't our style, but he said it looked nice and didn't look bad. So in the end we were happy. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour hair is lovely, don't cut, just add some layers maybe, so its not so much one lenght, maybe try some more hair up, with braids etc? Here are some fun ideas:)! http://blogs.babble.com/family-style/2011/08/30/10-creative-fall-hair-ideas/ Love your blog xx
ReplyDeleteHair grows, so if you feel you should cut it, give it a try. If you do cut it, however, please, please make a donation to Locks of Love (http://www.locksoflove.org/donate.html). You can make a change for yourself and do something good for a child with hair loss from radiation treatments or alopecia.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I would LOVE to have your hair.
ReplyDeleteSecond....it's hair...cut it if you want, you end up not liking it, it will grow back
That hair!!! Sister, you could wear a huge potato sack and STILL be the gorgeous girl GOD made you :D
ReplyDeleteA few years ago, I cut my hair (all the way up to my ears!!) and while it was shocking at first, I really enjoyed it. I felt....like teenagery. lol. I never regretted it. And now it's quite long again; but it did take 4 years :P
Anyways you're still you! Lol but I do admit, it changes ones behavior.
Nooo! Don't cut your beautiful hair! I absolutely LOVE your hair; what I wouldn't do to have hair like yours! Please, please don't cut it, I love seeing how you wear it in your "What I wore This Week" posts!
ReplyDeleteMandy, I think you are simply an adorable jewel in the crown of our Precious Lord and Saviour! You can tell that just by the words that you write... and then to see a picture of you... you are a beauty. I know (and I know that you know) that we should not base ourselves on our outward appearance, God looks at the heart. :) With that being said, I think you should cut your hair. Give a good 10 inches to Locks of Love and free yourself from the bondage of the headband.... although I did like the comment above of doing more braids... albeit time consuming. ;) Enough for now... I love your blog and I'm so grateful to God for leading this midwest mamma to you. :) Blessings to your day!
ReplyDeleteNo more rhymes now and I mean it! Anybody want a peanut?
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in Texas I would totally do your hair every day! I am a stylist, and do my daughter's hair and every girl in the neighborhood practically every day! Don't cut it! I think you should do some quick buns and braids when you are in a time crunch and a bit of a rut. You are gorgeous, and so is your hair! I would love to do your hair everyday, since I can't I can only throw ideas at you! :(
ReplyDeleteI totally love your hair and your headbands :-) but i do know what you mean because I get sick of the same old hair to. So, then i get it cut short and always regret it!!! I look back at pics from 3-4 years ago and I so want my loooong hair back so I am not cutting it short for a while! :-) :-) (keep your hair)
ReplyDeleteha ha ha! I love this comment :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're hair is perfect and I would love to have just a small fraction of that volume!! Love it girl!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your hair, but if you are in a rut then go for it!!!! Hair will always grow back, sometimes its a good feeling to just jump. :)
ReplyDeleteI would not cut your hair... How about pinning your hair to the side or pulling half of it up/back with hair pins or a clip or barrette of some sort? You could always try some simple do's with it all up, like a side ponytail?
ReplyDeleteYour hair is gorgeous! If I were you I understand it can be a lot of hair to handle, so I might just cut 4-5 inches off and thin it out a bit, that might make it more comfortable for you, but then you still have the strikingly beautiful long curly red hair. Also, just thought you might be interested in this person's point of view on raw food veganism for a long term diet... http://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/warning-raw-veganism-will-steal-your-health/
ReplyDeleteno, no, no DON't cut your hair. You will get out of this rut soon. I agree, get more headbands. Put it in a side bun, back bun, on top of your head bun. . . just DON'T cut it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair! I'm a curly girl too and I'm trying to grow it out longer. Everytime I get in a rut and decide to chop it all off, I like it for a few months and then decide I want to grow it out again. There is tons of information on this site as well as style ideas: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/.

Ah, I should have guessed! They have the BEST scarf selection!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is to die for... the color... the length... the curl! I love it! In fact... my hair curls similar to yours (actually more like mine than I have ever seen on anyone! So much so I'm thinking... goodness we should totally be hair buddies! We could like trade hair and no one would ever know... well except the color... yours is way better!)
ReplyDeleteJust found you via WIWW and love it!
As for your dilema... I was in the same place a few months ago... went to get a little cut and they ended up cutting wayyyyy too much off and I cried for days. But my little hair horror story doesn't happen to everyone... Promise! haha and it was probably just me freaking out... But really, I love your hair!

I am here from What I wore...I adore that gorgeous hair of yours!!!
ReplyDeletecute post! Your hair is so beautiful but if you feel like a change I think you should do something! I agree with Vicki that a few inches and some long layers just might do the trick! Ask your stylist they should have some good suggestions for you!

Your hair is so amazing and unique, keep it! :) I'm a big fan of headbands too, I have quite a few. They are awesome for keeping curly hair out of your face! And my hair's too short to put in a ponytail, even.

No!!!! Don't cut your hair. I'm so in love with it! Love all these looks especially the one with the bear :)

Also-headbands are good, but I would experiment with how you position the headband to give it a new look. Try other accessories too..hats, clips, so many options! :)
