how we told our kids we were having a baby

Oh my goodness, we had so much fun telling the kids we were going to have a baby this time around.

We planned it out because we wanted to give them a big Christmas surprise they weren't expecting at all... ;)

I made something special for each one of them, and we had them all sit on the couch and open their little presents. Here they are, thinking they were getting a Christmas present... ;)

they had no idea!! :) We're sneaky like that... :)
And here's how we told them the big news...

I could watch the video over and over and still laugh every time. Ahh, it's just too much fun! :)

We really enjoyed secretly making the shirts, and I was thrilled with how they turned out. :) I think the cost of each one ended up being like $3.50- I bought white tees and iron-on screen printing paper at Walmart, and made the graphics myself. :)

It was $17.50 well spent, I think. :)

Oh, I love having a big family! It's these sweet moments you remember forever- precious, precious kiddos who are crazy excited to have a new little baby in the house. :)

Those moments in life really remind you that all of this work {and laundry} is only temporary, but the reward is eternal, and brings you so much joy!

Children are truly a blessing, indeed. :)

How did you tell your kids you were having another baby?

Those who are planning for someday- do you have crazy ideas for telling your parents? I won't tell! :D

Have you done any iron-ons lately? They're soo easy, aren't they? :)

I watched it without the sound because I'm at work, but oh my goodness, how cute!!!! I'm almost 15 weeks with my first, so telling my furbabies wasn't that big of a deal. As for my parents, I called them on my lunch break and told my mom to wake up dad, told them over the phone, and then swore them to secrecy. My mom was soooo mad! And no iron-ons lately. I need to try my hand at that.

So cute!!!! I can't wait for Baby #2 (still probably a year off before we try again but still so excited!) and I've got a few ideas for telling everyone =P

We love iron ons!! I do my DD's month pictures with iron ons. She's 4 months now and I keep the same design (polka dots), just change the color & number every month.

Oh, how precious!!! Love that you caught it all on video too! We have a 1 & 3 year old, so only my 3 year old really gets things like that. We just brought her to one of my ultrasound appts and asked her what she thought that was on the screen. She got it. :)

Our two-year-old still hasn't completely gotten that his world is going to change in 4-8 weeks (Dr says she could be early) but he LOVES hearing the heartbeat and seeing the ultrasounds at our appointments. We were going to try to give our parents a scare with the news of this baby but my husband wound up giving my dad a heart attack so I just told him sorry and said, rather nonchalantly, that my husband was just trying to be funny with breaking the news of a second grand baby. That almost resulted in a second heart attack. Lol. My dad doesn't handle excitement well. I told my mom that we're just going to wait until the next one is born and call everyone to say, "Oh, by the way, I was pregnant but we just had the baby. Surprise!" Lol.

I love how you told you little ones. Our kids were teenagers when we decided to add a third to the family. T-shirts wouldn't have worked with "cool" older kids.LOL Love your ideas. So creative!

That is so awesome! My kids actualy knew we were having another baby before my husband did this time. Since he sleeps during the day and works nights, i took the test in the kids bathroom. While I waited for it o develope i went to grab the baby from her crib and my daughter saw the test. She cae out asking what it was so I told her. She went running into the master bedroom and screamed "Daddy, Mommy has a baby in her tummy!" and ran out. 2 minutes later i hear my sleepy husband scream "KELLIII". It was pretty funny :). My kids are so pumped about having another baby around.

It's also really cool to be able to see you and them in a video. It's not often, but it's cool when we get these little real-life peaks into your life!

Oh my word! We are planning to use number shirts to tell our kids about #5, too! In fact, I'm buying the last of the supplies tonight. Yours turned our way cuter than mine will, though. But I think my kids will be just as excited anyway. :) Congratulations to your family!
