that time we ran into famous people + a spring recharging

It's finally spring break at our house! It feels like I have been waiting so long for this week to come. :)

We started off our big break with a little junk food celebration:

Did you notice the M&M's?? :DDD

They taste like carrot cake, believe it or not. A little bit of artificial carrot cake, but if you're a cake fan, I guess you tend to like cake-flavored ice cream and candy... ;)

We also escaped away for a bit of alone time thanks to my dad again. :) We strolled into our favorite date spot, the Christian bookstore- completely oblivious that a major book signing was going on until we made it in the door.

But as soon as we found out it was these lovely people, we bought a book and hopped in line! :P

Who would've thought we'd run into the Duggars in the bookstore on a date?? :)

I think Zane really liked Michelle too...

I mean really liked her...

Oh my, yes, my little Zane loved her.

Here he's got that look in his eye...

 And then...he's leaning in,

and...

Yes, only my child would pull a famous person's hair. :P

He was extremely excited to take home a fistful of Mrs. Duggar's hair as a souvenir:

Luckily, she's the most gracious woman on the planet. My husband reminded me that if there was anyone who would understand an embarrassing baby incident, it would be Michelle Duggar. :)

You guys, she is the real deal...I've never met anyone who could sign books for hours and still be as interested and caring as she was that night. I've only met her on tv and once in a bookstore, but I LOVE her. :)

The Duggar parents and their older kids both signed the new book that I'm reading this week:

And I'm planning to read this one on my week off too:

You can tell I'm hoping to have lots of time to read. ;) I am going to be away from the internet until next week because my body and heart seem to be in great need of recharging. I've been feeling really weary for some time now, and I'm praying that this week will reenergize me in the best of ways. Most of all, I'm really wanting to get alone with Jesus and spend lots of time drinking in the living water. I know that will be the only way I'll find true refreshment. I need Him so much, all the time.

I hope you have a wonderful week, sweet friends!! :) I'll see you in a few days!

Have you been feeling the weariness lately too? Or is it just me?

Have you ever met the Duggars?
They pretty much amaze me on all counts. I am in awe of them. :)

What do you think about these weird M&M flavors?
I really love plain ones the best, but peanut butter and mint surprised me, and I want to try coconut! :)

I am friends with Michelle Duggar nephew and we were able to meet The Duggar family and were also able to hang out with them for a couple of hours. Michelle and I talked about Homeschooling and her struggle with Josie and my struggle with my son (cancer survivor). Seriously, they are the real deal. What you see on TV is how they really are. My older boys were invited to go hang out on the Duggar bus and play with the kids. I think I was geekin' more than anyone! LOL! I am SUCH a huge fan of theirs!

We ran into them at the Little Rock zoo once and also at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO-such an amazing family! We even named our last little girl Jessa after their sweet daughte!

The Duggars are super, super sweet. I've met them on two occasions- once at a homeschool convention and this past summer they came to Ohio to help us relaunch The Heart Beat Bill. Which is a pro-life bill stating that if a heartbeat detected that it's a human life and an abortion is not allowed. It's one of the strictest laws there is. The first round in Ohio it failed but because of the foundational work laid here, the Duggars worked with their state rep and got the law passed in AK. They are genuinely so sweet! Love there books. =)

Thank you for admitting you are weary...I was starting to wonder if I was the only one.:) Really you have been such an encouragement to me in my weary and sometimes lately... teary place.

Oh how fun that you got to meet them!! I have zero children and can't keep up - I have NO idea how she does it - and stays so NICE! :) This post made me smile so much.

As for weary - OH YES. Even with zero children. I never new commuting could wear a person out so. And you never get used to it...at least I don't...so I was ready for bed at 5 pm on Friday! Coolest. Adult. EVER. :)

I feel weary too. However, we just had a week's holiday and the kids are back to school. But I am exhausted by the housekeeping and the home improvement, and I have the impression of living in a construction site!!!

The Duggar are little known in France, but I admire this family! How does the mother not to be exhausted?

We don't have weird m&m's flavors here: just dark chocolate or milk chocolate ... how original, right?
Good week of rest. I am far from internet too (it's Lent!) And that feels good. Is that I can contact you by email to discuss home schooling? We want to homeschool next year, but we have questions on the subject (and our kids have the same age or nearly, so your organization interests me !!)... and nobody around to answer! It is so frowned upon in France!

u wil luv their books - I've read them numerous times! also good book/study for refueling is Stuck by Jennie allen. i'm doing it on Wednesday nights at church is an awesome video and study I says "The places we get stuck & the God who sets us free" its really a great study. I know u didn't say stuck u said weary but sometimes our weariness comes from that. and it gives good ideas of how to protect our hearts from that.

I live in the same town as the Duggars. I actually have gone on bike rides right by their house and have see the kids playing in the yards. I have always wondered how their books are; just have never gotten around to reading them.

I have and she's TINY! It surprised me how short she is. And that same, gentle voice. They are the real deal!

I have met them! Not Michelle, but Jana & Jessa, at a homeschool convention a few years ago, and you're right, they are the real deal. Such sweet hearts.

And, yes, I'm feeling weary, too. It seems to happen this time every year.

Enjoy your time away & I pray you are encouraged and rested with your quiet time! :)

A lot of believers are feeling that weariness lately, some call it "earth worn" or "world weary". I call it home sick. I am ready to go to my eternal home. Even so, Come Lord Jesus!

I am so in awe {better word than jealous!!} of you! I have loved the Duggars for the last five years and can't WAIT to meet them one of these days, Lord willing! I have both of their books, plus the oldest girls' books and have to say that they are truly a family after God's heart.

I, too, am feeling quite weary and just...I blame it on the fact that it's the end of March and I'm STILL surrounded by 4 feet of snow {I live in upstate New York} and the temps barely reach the 30s during the day and are below zero at night. I just feel so beaten down, you know?

Enjoy your time with your family and with Jesus and away from the internet! :)

I'm a big fan of peanut m's, but the pretzel ones are the best "new" ones they've come out with lately!

We also love the Duggars!
I had read a post about you saying you were no longer eating sweets. Are you feeling better? Have you returned to eating them?

Really loved the Duggar's book! I have found that white chocolate M&Ms are my favorite (can only find them at Target at Easter time).

YOU GOT TO MEET THE DUGGARS! And it's funny you say you met a famous person because I would react the same way if I ever ran into you in public lol you're a famous internet person! (But I totally know what you mean! Love the Duggars!)

That is so awesome that you met the Duggars!! What are the odds!?! I hope to meet them someday! :-)

Yes, I too am feeling quite weary. This week it seems as if I have merely survived.

My favorite M&M flavor is corn candy M&Ms!!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about them! :-)

Oh, I would love to meet her! She seems like such a sweet lady. And I too have been feeling weary (maybe it's the long winter?) This week we head to TN for some family time and a spring break. So excited for warmer temps than this Ohio weather has given us! I'm looking forward to taking a break from school and the day to day chores. And, going on some runs all by myself :)

Oh my! How in the world is it possible to accidentally bump into the Duggars? I clearly need to be visiting my Christian Bookstore more often! (Although my husband sort of banned me, because there are WAY too many good books in there, and I have a really hard time walking into a store and coming out with nothing). Ha!

Also, praise the Lord for parents who bless their children with free babysitting, so we can have date nights. I have a set of those, and it is seriously the biggest gift to know your children are somewhere safe and sound, while you are simultaneously laughing it up with your best friend in the world and conjuring up vague memories of what life was like before kiddies (even though you both know you would never go back!).

Such a cool date, thanks for sharing!

I got to meet them at a local restaurant a couple years ago! They really are the same as they are on TV!! I got to thank her for her encouragement to me as a mom. One thing she said on her show one time was that as she was writing her book she had to remind herself her kids were not interruptions. They are her first "job" and priority. Even though she could easily see book writing as a priority over listening to her child or getting them a drink. Love their show. So cool you accidentally ran into them!! Zane is so big!! I don't know how you keep up with your blog! I've not been able to as much as I like but there's a lot of posts jumbled in my brain :)
